    March 31, 2010

It’s absolutely gorgeous today. The weather is so nice! Enjoy it while you can. Tomorrow may be a different story.

    So, top down, hair up!!!

***Well, I don’t have a convertible. So, I’ve got nothing to put down. However, I can put my hair up!  LOL!

    Telethon is on!

    January 22, 2010

The two-hour telethon is on tonight, 01/22/2010!!

HOPE FOR HAITI will be shown at 8 p.m. ET. (7 central). Networks showing the telethon are ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT. It will also be available internationally.

So who do you want to answer whe you call the Haiti telethon? George Clooney or Robert Pattinson?

I’m sure you’ve heard what happened in Haiti. It’s devastating. It breaks my heart.

There are so many ways on how you can help. Here’s one.

For folks in the U.S.A, here’s how you can donate if you want to donate to the Red Cross via text message:

From the Red Cross website: “In addition, several hundred thousand people have chosen to make a mobile donation. Donors can text “Haiti” to 90999 on their cell phone to send a $10 donation to support Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. The mobile giving effort raised more than $3 million by Thursday morning, and all money raised goes to support Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.”

    Unfriend

    November 17, 2009

Certainly, the English language is changing (well, it’s always been, and I’m sure you’ve noticed that too). It’s constantly adding a word that best reflects the current mood of the year. For example, “UNFRIEND” is now the new Oxford American Dictionary’s 2009 Word of the Year.

    Read below:

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/182339/unfriend_chosen_as_oxford_dictionarys_2009_word_of_the_year.html

I think this word was chosen because of the extreme popularity of FACEBOOK. The word “unfriend” refers to the deletion of friend(s) on Facebook. They used it as an action to trigger deletion of your cyber friend(s) from your account. Therefore, if it’s an “action”, then it must be a “verb”. Or not. LOL!

Whatever that is, it is now the coolest word in 2009. Believe it or not.

The other words that made it to the finalists for 2009 include netbook, which is a small laptop primarily meant for net browsing, and sexting, which is defined as sending sexually explicit texts and pictures via cell phone.

    Well, duh!

    October 26, 2009

I always knew that s#*t doesn’t work! It’s a marketing scam targeting young parents or first time parents who don’t know any better. Even my children absolutely loathe those. It’s amazing how they both refused to watch  those videos. I’m so glad we sold ours on eBay. It was a gift. That’s okay, right? LOL!

Walt Disney Company is now offering full refunds for all those Baby Einstein videos that didn’t boost your children’s intelligence. Well, duh!!

    The Birds

    October 15, 2009

Last weekend, gazillion birds disturbed my family’s peaceful breakfast rendezvous. LOL!

The birds flocked in the backyard all at the same time. They appeared to look like crows. And, they seemed like they’re going to attack someone!

The photo obviously did not do much justice to the scene I was hoping to convey. I was a little late. They flew away when I was about to take a picture.

At any rate, that’s so strange! It reminded me of one of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movies, “The Birds”. LOL!

    Apple’s Out Pomegranate’s In.

Okay. And you think only Apple makes sleek and futuristic phone? Well, here’s comes the Pomegranate! The ultimate battle of the FRUITS!!

I must have missed this one on general  tech bytes. But, Bryan showed me this site yesterday.

    http://www.pomegranatephone.com/

It is the latest campaign from Communications Nova Scotia’s Come to Life initiative. Nova Scotia is a small province in southeastern Canada.

Apparently, the pomegranate phone is the ultimate all-in-one device that lets you make and receive a call; use it as a projector, play music by using it as a harmonica; use it a shaver; and brew coffee!!

Wowza! Seriously, do you want to brew coffee right after shaving your armpit?

Relax, it’s just a CONCEPT (for now, I think).

    Too Bad, So Sad

    October 3, 2009

Unfortunately, Chicago was not chosen as the host city for the 2016 Olympics.  Chicago was actually knocked out in the first round of voting.  Quite a shocker and embarrassing.  Some people are saying the voting results were political.  Some say that Chicago’s Olympic presentation lacked focus and flash.  Either way, it’s done and life will go on.  Congratulations to Rio for getting to host the Olympics.

Today, Friday, we will find out who’s going to host the 2016 Olympic. Appeals and bids  are being made in Copenhagen right now. It looks like a close call between Rio De Janeiro and Chicago. We’ll find out later, I think.

For now, read the news below:
