Do you know Kings of Leon?

They are the hottest band right now. They are an American band but received their initial success in UK. They’ve been around since early 2000. They started making hits just recently. One of the songs was nominated in the recent VMA. It’s “Use Somebody”.

Tonight, they will be Noblesville, IN. This is actually not too far from my location, but, I couldn’t go still. ;-(

    Best enjoyed for groups

    September 14, 2009

What would you do if you just want to hang out with your friends on a Friday night, but don’t want to just stay at a local coffee shop? Well, we had 2 options – Claim Jumper or Pinstripes. Not sure what happened but we ended up going to Pinstripes. We chose to eat outside at the patio. They had live music. Local musicians (it’s a duo) performed that night. Good selections of songs.

This place is fun, but certainly best enjoyed for groups. Pinstripes is definitely a place to go to if you’re looking for a place  where you can dine and play games in the suburbs. Obviously, we’re thrilled when they opened one up in the suburbs.

Yes, it was a little chilly, but they have one of those torches that acts like a heater. They provide blankets too for those who are super cold. So, that worked!

I think we laughed more than we ate. That was really a fun night.

    Their wine selection.

At the patio. She’s looking at the torch that moved around so many times.

The creme brule that was served to few lucky ones only. If you’re expecting, then you’ll get one automatically…LOL!

    The alternative…..caramelized cheese cake.

    I Gotta Feeling

    September 11, 2009

Few days ago, the taping of OPRAH was held along Michigan Avenue (Yes, they literally closed down the street during taping).

Prior to that, they’ve twitted that they’re in need of folks who would be willing to participate in a dance routine as part of the show. Hundreds and hundreds of people responded and below’s the result.

That’s Black Eyed Peas singing “I Gotta Feeling”.

It’s freakin’ awesome! It makes you want to love Chicago even more!

    Evacuate the Dancefloor

    September 8, 2009

Cascada, the famous German eurodance group will be performing at John Barleycorn in October 8. Their hit singles include “Everytime We Touch” which won them a World Music Award in 2007, “What Hurts the Most” , and the latest one, “Evacuate the Dancefloor” which recently became a UK number one.

Apparently, this is a private party/show. You will need to win to get the tix. I’ve been trying to win the tix through B96 and I haven’t had any luck (yet). ;-(

Get the 411 on B96 and through http://www.johnbarleycorn.com/events_tickets.htm

“Did we get the tickets?”, I asked. “Well, it’s hard to find good seats!”, she said.

Few minutes later. “There’s one. It’s a good deal! So, we’re in, right?”, she asked. “Go for it!”, I answered.

So, we got the tickets!! The story begins…..

Note: My camera is very old. Considering, the photos turned out okay (I think).

    ====================================================

    Tuesday, April 28, 2009. It’s Britney, b~*ch!!

    ====================================================

    1. Pre-concert food………..bittermelon & rice, beef stew & rice……hehehehhe….that was so getto, but good!

    2. Off we go! We still got lost!  Thank goodness for the GPS! (though it took couple minutes to acquire satellites).

    Gotta love technology!

    3. Finally! ALLSTATE ARENA.

We arrived early, so we had to park at the front. Good spot, but a bad idea after the concert. You’ll get stuck there forever waiting for people to move their asses off the parking lot before you can take your turn.

    4. As you can tell, there were people in line already. The concert won’t start until 8pm. We arrived at 6:30pm on a very cold Tuesday night to begin to line up in a chill. It was freakin’ 50 degrees and very windy!

As soon as you enter the lobby, the souvenir shop is waiting for you! It’s $50 for a shirt. Oh, hell no!

    5. This is the entrance to the center of the circus.Virgin Mobile is the major sponsor. One of their staff was kind enough to take a picture of us! Holla!!!

    6. This is the stage. It consists of 3 circular platforms. The middle is the biggest.

And that’s exactly where we sat. Good spot!! Good job, Joy!

    img_6028img_6032img_6029img_6031

    7. This is an hour before the show. The next photo was taken 15 minutes before the show.

    img_6027img_6044

    8. And the show begins!  It’s the PussyCat Dolls. The opening act.

They’re awesome! Very good dancers too! We actually saw Nicole, the lead vocalist, before the show.

    img_6068img_6049img_6051img_6072img_6067img_6093

    9. After the PCD performance, the crew started setting up the stage again. People were anxiously waiting! They were screaming!

    img_6097img_6099

    10. IT”S SHOW TIME!! The curtains go up, and the CIRCUS begins! I mean, the real CIRCUS people! It’s part of the whole act.

    img_6103img_6113

    11. Then, it’s Perez Hilton!

    img_6115

    12. And the SCREAM begins!  It’s definitely deafening!!! (I still am. Well, it’s a different story for Joy. She’s already deaf to begin with…..just kidding!).

All eyes on her at the center of the ring just like a CIRCUS!

    First song, CIRCUS.

    img_6120img_6123img_6125img_6128

    13. More songs (Piece of Me, Radar – from the album, Circus), more circus act.

    14.  Boys, boys, boys. That’s the song in this outfit.

    img_6151img_61521img_6160img_6157

    15. If you seek Amy.

    img_6161img_6162img_6165img_6166

    16.  More songs – Hot as ice, Me against the music.

    img_6174img_6177img_6178img_6181

    17. The only ballad song – Everytime

    img_6183img_6184

    18. Amazing production!

Songs – Freakshow, Touch of my hand, Breathe on me.

    img_6192img_6200img_6202img_6206img_6207img_6213img_6214img_6218

    19. Hit me baby one more time!  Toxic, I’m a slave for you.

In this act, it’s all about the songs from her previous albums.

    img_6223img_6227

    img_6235img_6237img_6240

    20. The encore. WOMANIZER & the CIRCUS-reprise.

    img_6242img_6243

It’s an experience. It’s worth the money. I’ve watched her concert before. This one is definitely my favorite.

    Just Like a CIRCUS!!

    April 29, 2009

All eyes on her at the center of the ring just like a CIRCUS!!!

It’s BRITNEY 2009! And YES, Joy and I  were there!!

Britney Spears has already conquered North America with “The Circus Starring Britney Spears 2009 Tour“.  Radio station (we’re listening to B96 while waiting for people to move so we can leave the parking lot) says she seemed genuinely touched by the warm reception given to her by CHICAGO.

The big question is “how did it go? How did she pull it out all together? More importantly, what outfits did she wear?”. You will find out the asnwers to these questions on my next post.

Photos and commentaries to be posted soon.
