Their books. The stories they wrote themselves.

My daughter had her story written at school. If I’ll just tell you, you won’t believe it. Initially, I didn’t believe it. Until I read and heard about the teacher’s comments.

My son outlined his story and went from there.  His story was based on our recent vacation. Hers was all fiction.

Bottom line, they did pretty good for their age. Clearly, there’s no need to encourage them on self-expression. They can do it themselves.

    A nice complement

    March 30, 2010

Apparently, Stephenie Meyer has a new book coming out!! It’s called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. It’s a novel and it’s not part of the vampire saga. However, it’s related to the 3rd book (Eclipse). In that book, there’s a glimpse of a newborn (newly created vampire) named Bree. She’s supposedly the youngest newborn.

In this new book, it talks about what it’s like to be a newborn. It’s written in Bree’s perpective. I think it’s a nice complement to the 3rd book.

That’s definitely something to look forward to.

    Watch out for:

$1 from each book sold will be donated to the American Red Cross.

The storyline may not be the greatest, but the colors, the special effects, and the animation is definitely worth another trip down the rabbit hole!

This is a sequel to the first movie where Alice reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny.

    A must see movie nevertheless.

    Dear John

    March 1, 2010

Dear John is not one of those complicated movies. It’s an alright movie. It’s entertaining. It’s a “feel good”  love story with a twist. The twist is not at all predictable. Of course, the common elements of an “N. Sparks” novel have to be there – beach, house by the beach, and the moon or the stars.

It will make you hungry though. It’s not because of the story itself. It’s because of the kids running around constantly inside the theater.

    So, from Biaggi’s to Houlihan’s. Final choice – Houlihan’s!!

    Graphic Novel

    January 21, 2010

Seriously? Until when are they going to stop milking its popularity?

First, it was a dream, then became a book. Followed by another book until it became a saga. then, a movie. And another one. Now, it’s a graphic novel? Are you serious?

Well, if you’re a real “twi-hard”, I guess you’re going to like this. Apparently, it was boiled down carefully not to miss important details from the book.

I’m interested in the graphics more so than the content.  Yeah, right!

Stephanie would like to eventually have The Host be part of a Trilogy. Oh, I would like to read that!!

Nope. Midnight Sun will not be continued at this time as much as she wants to throw it in the bookstore shelves.

    Interesting…

    November 3, 2009

There’s a new book by Dinesh D’Souza. It’s titled Life After Death: The Evidence. The book attempts to build a case or explain what will happen to us after death. Interesting, huh!?

    Overshadowed

    October 30, 2009

It’s a wrap for Eclipse. Stephenie Meyer left Vancouver the same time Rob and Kirsten did. She was obviously overshadowed by the 2 lead stars and no one noticed her except for Lainey of http://www.laineygossip.com/.

If I see Stephenie there, without a doubt, I would run towards her first and ask for an autograph. Well, what can I say, I’m a big fan!

    The Lost Symbol

    October 7, 2009

Pam was the one who told me about Dan Brown – the author of Angels and Demons & Da Vinci Code. Though I never actually read the books (unless browsing few pages counts), I enjoyed the movies. Both of them.

Dan Brown’s style of writing is both interesting and very imaginative. He has a new one – The Last Symbol. Apparently offered for 50% off on the day it was released! That’s a little odd. That’s Dan Brown. That can’t be true.

Joy bought a copy. I have yet to ask her if she likes it. This is the type of plot she likes to read. Something suspenseful and something that takes you to a ride.

MSN news posted a link with a title, “Best  new books that no one is reading”. Hhhmmm….interesting…read for yourself. Here’s the link:

Sounds interesting enough? Get a copy.
