  • Polka Dotted

    October 31, 2008

She shops at H&M. Well not exactly true. She got her hands on this scarf before it even hits the store!

The polka-dot scarf will be $60 from H&M.

I googled it and I found out that it’s a Comme des Garcon’s collaboration with H&M. Comme des Garcon is a french label who also collaborated with Louis Vuitton in the past.

They also have this polka-dot handbag. It is kind of expensive for H&M line. I guess you will have to wait for it to drop in stores for closer inspection. This line will be available On November 13th.

    Off the wall

    October 30, 2008

I stumbled across this idea for soap dish shelves. I can’t believe that this soap dish shelf idea is from Martha Stewart. It’s quite unexpected, alright….but nah, no thanks!

Maybe this would work in one of her houses, but not in mine! This would look like I bolted soap dishes to the wall trying to be clever just like one of the shows in HGTV. LOL!

Apparently, it supposed to hold keys, coins and other small items….such as soap!? Soap in your foyer…….clever…..LOL!

I got this image from a friend. I did a little bit of researched and I found out that they do sell this gadget.

Now, you can take a photo without any help from a stranger! It’s called the “quickpod”. It’s a handheld tripod.

It looks funny but I’m sure it works! It’s priced at around $29 at http://www.magellans.com

    What is your MPG?

    October 27, 2008

Due to high gas prices, consumers have changed their buying habits when it comes to autos.

According to MSN, the 2009 Toyota Prius is the most fuel-efficient vehicle on the road today. It is rated at 48 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway.

Next in line is the Honda Civic Hybrid. It is 40 mpg in the city, 45 on the highway.

Lucky are those who drive fuel-efficient cars. Sorry for those (including myself) who drive SUVs, trucks, minivans and other gas-eating automobiles.

Not to worry (well, at least for now). Gas prices went down dramatically. In Illinois, the average gas price as of today is $2.78 per gallon.

I guess your Halloween will not be scary anymore!!

    I like.com

    October 26, 2008

She likes to wear frocks. She probably owns a couple of dozen. This one reminds me of Mischa Barton’s dress she wore at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

If you’re not sure what style you like, you can VISUALLY SEARCH frocks based on color, shapes, and patterns at http://www.like.com.  The image below shows the J.Crew dress that I visually searched on.

     Discover VISUAL SEARCH at LIKE.COM!

I found this site while looking for a perfect hairstyle. It’s from MSN in partnership with Marie Claire. There are over 150 hairstyle images that you can view based on length (short, medium & long), texture (curly, wavy, straight), ethnicity (African-American, Asian, Caucasian & Latino) and maintenance time (under 15 minutes, 15-30 minutes and 30+ minutes).

You can click on the image to get more information about the hairstyle.

I had fun flipping through the different options. Try it!

    Vibrating Mascara

    October 23, 2008

Today, vibrating mascara is listed number # 1 by MSN’s list of hot topics (www.msn.com). I thought to myself, what the heck is a vibrating mascara anyway?

Curious me, I did a little bit of research. Here’s what I found out.

Estee Lauder (www.esteelauder.com) was the first one to launch the vibrating mascara. It’s called TurboLash Effects Motion Mascara. It’s $30 at Saks 5th.

Then of course Lancome (www.lancome-usa.com) followed the path. It’s called Lancome Oscillation mascara. It’s $34 at fine stores. Apparently, it became available only for ONE day on July 31st. After that day, they stop selling this product. The cosmetic company officially released it this fall.

So, what exactly do they do? The new trend in mascara promises to separate your lashes with NO clumps! Also, with its vibrating effect, it will give you the curl, length and separation your eyelashes deserve!

Now you know, even makeup is going the high-tech way.

Now, you have 2 vibrating gadgets in your purse – your phone and your mascara! (**wink, wink**) LOL!

If their products are as good as their ads are, I will drive to nearest mall and I will get myself one of these.
