Up, up and away!
May 31, 2009
Our plan worked out! We went to see the 3D movie, UP on its first day of showing.
It’s actually a two-fold weekend activity – watch UP and celebrate Thomas’ birthday.
UP is a lovely fantasy movie from Disney Pixar. It received the highest review from the reputable movie critics. It’s a realized love story about a 78-year old man’s undying love for his wife and trying to make their dreams come true. The addition of the young boy who is forcing the old man to assume increasingly grandfatherly duties, just made the movie more interesting, and cuter.
============================
The movie won’t start until 6:30. My family was there before 6pm. We got in line while waiting for the other 2 families. 10 minutes before it started, friends arrived with their kids. As much as I wanted to let them cut in line, I decided not to. I thought it would be rude and unfair to others who were there before them. It felt nice knowing that we did the right thing. Well, not really………. it was only for 10 minutes………..the queen “B” in cream colored vest snuck in at the front and made her way to the middle aisle/seat of the theater. Needless to say, we got the best seat in the house….LOL!
After the movie, we had dinner to continue celebrating Thomas’ 5th birthday! Happy birthday, Thomas!!
=======================
Enjoy some of our photos.
The first folks in line.
Now playing…..
After the movie…
It’s dinner time!
Someone’s preparing the iced tea.
The rice’s almost ready.
Well, someone’s facebooking while waiting.
It’s cake time!!
Iced tea, again??
As expected, golf topic again, and again, and again!
That’s the culprit in navy blue shirt and his ultra expensive Cobra golf clubs.
Ristorante Italiano
May 29, 2009
I suppose driving all the way from north to west was not that bad if you’d get to see your friends and eat at Biaggi’s (http://www.biaggis.com/).
It’s an Italian restaurant that has a casual setting with very friendly staff.
===========================
Here’s my personal chauffeur driving her red blazer….LOL!
Sorry about the last photo. It’s a little blurry. I was walking while taking picture using my iphone.
A friend of mine just got back from a long vacation in the Philippines, and here’s what I got. A chunky bracelet in black onyx. Isn’t it nice? I like it!! Thanks much!!
Sporty Case
May 27, 2009
Linea Pelle (http://www.lpcollection.com/) is known for handbags. The most popular style is ‘Dylan Zip Tote” popularized by celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tishdale, Annalynne McCord, etc.
Linea Pelle also carries iPhone cases such as the one below. I’m thinking of getting this one, but it’s velcro, and I’m not a big fan of velcro. It has good reviews though. If this one for you, go get one. It’s on sale for $20.
Amazing abs. The body says it all!
The black dots in Rob’s body are for the CGI effect. He’s supposed to sparkle when hit by the sun.
They’re filming a scene from New Moon where Edward is going to reveal one of the vampire secrets that will make Volturi take his life away not knowing that Bella is still alive.
Photos are from http://robertpattinson.org/
The most extensive site for your daily Rob fix.
Last night, my husband and I were at this one store that sells pretty much everything. They carry all kinds of house stuff under one roof.
The intention was to buy a set of bakeware. Instead of finding BAKEWARE, we found BACKWARE…..LOL! I didn’t know Calphalon makes BACKWARE!
Spell check anyone??

Number 1 this week
May 26, 2009
Interesting……Bride Wars is the number one movie in iTunes this week.
The movie is not bad, but it’s not great either. It’s just an “okay” movie in my opinion.
The story can be predicted by the title alone…. a war between brides.
If you just want to relax and smile a bit, then watch it.

Back to Backsplash
May 24, 2009
It has been 3 1/2 years and I still don’t have a kitchen backsplash. A backsplash is the decorative design installed in the space between your kitchen cabinets and your countertops. It can be made of tiles, glass, ceramic, faux paint, or the same material as your countertops such as granite, quarts, corian, or any man-made solid surface.
I have been wanting to get it done but for some reasons my co-designer (my hubby, that is…lol!) never had time for it.
This summer, that’s the plan. No “buts”. No 2nd thoughts. Just go for it. And hopefully, grout is included in the installation (like someone I know)…LOL!
Okay, the 1st step is to order the tiles, decorative accent, outlet plates, and grout. Unfortunately, not all home improvements stores carry this type of tile. There’s a few specialty stores that carry this but they charge so much. They double the price if not triple. Ordering on-line will save us a lot of money in the process. So, order-on-line is the route we’re taking.
This is the tile we chose to order. The brand name is Daltile. The style is called Urban Camouflage. It’s made of glass in a variety of urban colors. We’re thinking of the brushed nickel tile as the decorative accent. The combined materials will hopefully give our kitchen the glossy, modern twist that we wanted.

Keep the hype alive!
May 23, 2009
EW (http://www.ew.com) just released some of the photos from the Twilight Saga, New Moon.
To keep the hype alive, they released the first movie poster as shown below. In this poster, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) appears to be protecting Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart) from Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). The 2nd book from the Twilight Saga is all about the lowest point in Bella’s life.
The next photo looks like they’re filming the scene for “Bella’s birthday party”. This triggers the whole idea of Edward leaving Bella due to too much complications.
The next one is Bella’s photo with one of the Nomads played by Edi Gathegi (villain), where he’s telling her not to be fearful of death.
In the last photo you’ll see the pack of wolves played by these good-looking, 100% Native American actors.
Angels & Demons
May 20, 2009
The long wait is finally over. Angels & Demons is now playing.
It’s a story about saving the Catholicism. In my opinion, it’s overly serious than the first one (Da Vinci Code). Too many demons than angels. The demons are the people who tried to bury this religion. The angels are those who keep their faith and beliefs. It’s a movie that is packed with Vatican intrigue.
I did not know that it’s actually the first book and not the Da Vinci Code. Thanks to Pam for schooling me on this.
Why wait another week if you can watch it right now? Right? Exactly my point!
To concentrate fully, I had to have a full stomach, of course. LOL!
Chinatown Restaurant was the answer. It’s only my 2nd time to eat there, and I still think that the food is great!
As you can tell we have 2 new adopted BFFs. The sisters in glasses…LOL!
